Chetza, the Feathered Plague, is one of the more troublesome bosses in Path of Exile 2's Trial of Chaos. The giant bird can fill a surprisingly small arena with overlapping attacks, turning a seemingly simple fight into a test of movement and awareness. Before entering deeper Trial runs, make sure your character has enough defensive gear and a solid supply of POE 2 Orbs for last-minute equipment upgrades.

Where To Find Chetza

Chetza can appear at the Temple of Chaos during the Trial of Chaos boss rotation. Depending on the run, players may instead encounter Bahlak or Uxmal.

During longer Inscribed Ultimatum runs, bosses can appear in Rooms 4, 7, and 10. That makes learning Chetza especially important if you want to push through multiple stages rather than simply complete a short Trial.

The fight is less about memorizing every animation and more about understanding which attacks can overlap.

Chetza's Damage And Weaknesses

Chetza mainly deals physical damage and can apply Bleeding, Maim, and Tainted Viscera. The boss has Cold resistance but is more vulnerable to Fire damage, so Fire-based characters can have a natural advantage.

Still, damage alone will not carry the encounter. Maim is particularly dangerous because losing movement speed makes the boss's area attacks harder to avoid.

Before the fight, check whether your equipment covers:

• Physical damage mitigation
• Bleed protection or recovery
• Reliable movement
• Life or Energy Shield recovery
• Enough elemental resistance for the Trial

If your gear needs several upgrades, buy POE 2 Orbs can help you prepare before taking on higher-risk Trial modifiers.

Corpse Rain Is The Main Threat

Chetza's Corpse Rain is the mechanic that usually causes the most deaths. The boss screeches before calling down bird corpses around the arena. The bodies explode when they land, creating bursts of damage for roughly five seconds.

Do not try to stand still and attack through this phase.

Instead, run around the outer part of the arena in a broad curve. Keep your movement predictable and avoid sharp turns that can send you directly into another falling corpse. If your build has a movement skill, save it for a bad position rather than wasting it immediately.

The safest mindset is simple: survive first, deal damage second.

Watch For Spiral Spike

Spiral Spike sends bone spikes through the ground in a swirling pattern. Getting hit deals damage and applies Maim, reducing your movement speed.

That debuff becomes especially dangerous if Corpse Rain starts soon afterward. A slowed character has much less room to react, so pay attention to the ground instead of focusing entirely on the boss's health bar.

Try to move through the open spaces between the spikes. Keep your dodge available for emergencies, particularly when several effects overlap.

Deal With The Plagueling

Chetza can summon a Plagueling, a smaller enemy that follows the player and attacks at close range. It is not especially dangerous by itself, but leaving it alive adds unnecessary pressure.

Kill the Plagueling during a quiet moment between major boss mechanics. Do not chase it around the arena while Corpse Rain is active.

One detail is easy to overlook: the Plagueling still needs to be killed even if Chetza dies first. Keep an eye on it until the encounter is completely finished.

Best Way To Approach The Fight

There are a few simple adjustments that make Chetza much easier:

• Ranged builds: Stay at a safe distance and attack between mechanics.
• Melee builds: Look for short damage windows instead of forcing long combos.
• Fire builds: Take advantage of Chetza's Fire weakness where possible.
• Low-mobility builds: Be especially careful when selecting Trial modifiers.
• Defensive builds: Prioritize recovery and physical mitigation over small damage gains.

You should also be selective with Tribulations. A modifier that looks manageable on paper can become extremely dangerous when combined with Maim and Corpse Rain. Having some cheap POE 2 Orbs available for defensive gear adjustments can be useful before pushing a difficult run.

Final Tips For Beating Chetza

Chetza is not really a damage-check boss. The encounter becomes much easier once you stop trying to maximize every damage window. Keep moving, watch the ground, clear the Plagueling, and wait for safe openings before attacking.

The biggest priority is avoiding situations where Maim, Spiral Spike, and Corpse Rain overlap. Once you learn that rhythm, Chetza becomes far less chaotic.

For players preparing for deeper Trial of Chaos runs, Path of Exile 2 Currency for sale can help fill gaps in your equipment, but the most important upgrade is learning the encounter itself. Stay patient, respect the arena mechanics, and the Feathered Plague becomes a much more manageable obstacle on the way to better Trial rewards and Ascendancy progression.
